Recent Instragram Issue 12/17

This article is to document the Recent Instagram Issue last 12/17 with the photo gallery content widget.

The issue is caused by a recent change that Meta / Instagram made on their API with no prior notification, it’s not our issue and it affected many other platforms (it’s described here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/instagram-api-with-instagram-login)

We are working urgently on adhering to their changes, we're sorry it’s taking longer than expected. However, we are in communication with Meta about it to ensure a smooth transition to the new integration.

It’s important to note, that Meta’s change means that it’s no longer possible to embed personal Instagram accounts to a website, we’re very sorry but it’s a change on Meta’s end, not ours.

This means that from now on:

• The integration between the Photo Gallery and Instagram only works with Professional Instagram accounts
• Therefore, any existing connections between the Photo Gallery and Instagram will break.
  

When we see the new integration is working, we will update you again. In the meantime, you can share a link to the Instagram account using a regular Button widget. This is temporary until the new integration is working as expected.
