How to Index Your Sitemap with Bing
With ChatGPT increasingly being used as a search engine — and with its integration into Bing Search — it’s now more important than ever to ensure your website is indexed by Bing, not just Google.
This helps your site (and your clients’ sites) appear in AI-powered search results, improving visibility and reach.
Why It Matters
Bing’s search index directly powers ChatGPT’s browsing and search capabilities.
If your website isn’t indexed in Bing, it’s less likely to appear in ChatGPT answers or Bing AI summaries.
By submitting your sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools, you ensure your site is discoverable across both traditional and AI-driven search platforms.
How to Index Your Site on Bing
Sign up or log in using your Microsoft account.
Add your website URL to Bing Webmaster Tools.
Verify ownership of your site (you can do this by adding a meta tag, uploading a verification file, or verifying through your DNS provider).
Once verified, navigate to Sitemaps in the left-hand menu.
Click Submit Sitemap and enter your sitemap URL — typically:
You can also submit individual URLs by going to Tools → URL Submission, and adding one link at a time for instant indexing.
