6 Important Store Updates You Asked For—Delivered

Created by Mark Alfon, Modified on Tue, 21 May at 10:08 AM by Mark Alfon

We’re happy to deliver on these 6 features and updates you asked for, that will help you build eComm sites better and faster than ever before. And most importantly, they’ll allow you to offer tangible value to your eComm clients.

Add an image or additional info to the product page

Want to add another photo to the product page that’s not part of the product images? Or an additional text block to list the store’s refund policy or care instructions? Meet the additional content block (formerly custom fields).

By adding and using widgets’ Connect to Data option on the product page, you can connect and show those text and image blocks added to each product.

Beauty & smarts: Show product info dynamically on the product page in an Accordion

Thanks to a new feature we released for the Accordion widget, you can now place it on the product page and use it to dynamically show the product info you want for any or all product pages. Just make sure you create and add an additional content block (as mentioned above) to your product pages before setting it up.

And this works not just with store catalog data, but with any connectable data so you can use it for Dynamic pages, Business Info fields, etc., so the possibilities are virtually endless.

Have clients’ products show on Google

You can now instantly sync clients’ store catalogs with Google to have their products show in shipping results and more importantly, run ads on Google shopping.

To set it up, go to the Google Tools section under SEO & Settings in the editor, generate the .xml feed file, and upload it to your client’s Google Merchant Center account.

From that point on, any updates made to your client’s catalog on Duda will auto-sync with Google, ensuring only in-stock items are shown with the updated price and image.

Customize the info customers fill out at checkout

We’ve added new options for customizing the fields of personal information customers are asked to fill out at checkout:

  • Choose between having the customer’s first & last name appear in 1 or 2 separate fields
  • Choose between having the customer’s address appear in 1 or 2 separate fields
  • Choose to add a mandatory phone number field
  • Choose to add an optional text box for the customer’s entered shipping or delivery instructions

Add price clarity to variants on the product page

Now, when customers click the product options dropdown to select a variant on the product page, each variant will include the price of that option. This will increase clarity regarding pricing, resulting in an improved shopping experience overall.

UX improvements for a faster store build

To wrap up this long list of store updates, we’ve added a couple more small improvements we hope you’ll be thrilled about, the main one being:

Duplicate products at the click of a button

To speed up the process of creating and setting up the catalog.
